Hi,
I´m one of 3 guys that use RDC to connect to few 2003 servers, we use all 4 connections ID 0-1-2-3 on most of the servers.

when one logs off that has ID 1 or 2 the next client that tries to connect gets the message:

The terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed connections.

for example:
A:normal setup
ID | user | computer-name
0 admin1 - computer1
1 admin2 - computer2
2 admin2 - computer3
3 admin3 - computer4

B:user has logged off
ID | user | computer-name
0 admin1 - computer1
2 admin2 - computer3
3 admin3 - computer4

C:admin1 tries to log on with laptop
ID | user | computer-name
0 admin1 - computer1
2 admin2 - computer3
3 admin3 - computer4
4 admin1 laptop <-- ID 4 not available and dose not find ID 1 :(

mstsc /v:server-x
-->The terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed connections.

Of course I can use mstsc /v:server-x /console
but then I will have to kick the one using ID-0 off

I´m wondering if it is possible to use command like
mstsc /v:server-x /ID:1 maybe there is a update-fix,hack or something

please help ... I will apreseate :)

I'm a little confused about you post, so stay with me if I'm not getting it...
Terminal Server in Administration mode only allows 2 license connections. So if a third user tries to logon, you would get the error message you are seeing. Also, it matters if you Log Off or Disconnect from the server. If you Log Off, your session is closed and the connection license is freed-up. If you disconnect from the server, then the session is still active. And yes, using the /cosole switch only allows one connection. So it would not matter if you had two connections available, you can only use one /cosole connection at a time.

Hope that helps...

You could change to application mode, buy 4 connection licenses, this would allow all 4 of your admin accounts to log on at the same time, but you are still limited to one /console connection...

Thanks

the fact that you can have only 1 console and 2 user mode connected was not clear to me....

I once saw all 4 in task-manager and that was confusing me.
