Support for RCC expired many years ago.
If it was me, I would image the customers HDD so that you always have the original working system and with a new image, try to upgrade it to Windows 10 to see if it will work.
You might have to select the Windows compatibility mode for Windows 7, but there is no guarantee that it will work.

I recall it was a bitch from XP to 7....you say it does not work well with 10, so I will guess it will be the same on 11.
Maybe run a virtual mode of XP or 7?
