question:
what are the steps to configure the backup from the whole raw-partitions via (separatly configured) legato-client)?

kind regards roger

- go to ftp://ftp.legato.com/pub/NetWorker/German
- download the file tins_2001.pdf

You will find the answer in this doc. Yes, it is written in english.

Hi Chapter 11 and 605!

i musst :) backup my client.

does not anybody have the same situation solved?

kind regards speedyx

hi,

You can do this via directives:
create in nwadmin a directive as the following and give it in the clients "directive" resource.

<< / >>
+rawasm: raw1:cciss/c0d1p5 <-- native path of disk
+rawasm: raw2:cciss/c0d1p6

------------------------------------------------------

make for each disk an extra line. The + means recursiv.

The raw-disk device backup works fine i use it also to backup the /dev directory of my laptop.

okay, thankx LGTOBug
and in the client config i must configure also the
"raw1:cciss/c0d1p5 " path or only the map-path
"raw1"

??? thankx in advance speedyx

To speedyx ...

i just verified my statement - the file exists. The description is a chapter inside that document. Happy reading.

Try putting the raw device name in as the saveset name. At least on Windows, this works starting with networker 6.x, so you don't have to use a .nsr file. I believe it is similar with unix.

For instance

save /dev/rdsk/c1t2d3s4

Don't know how it works if you use a cooked alias.

Dave

Use the raw path not the mapped one.

<< / >>

+rawasm: /dev/hda1
+rawasm: /dev/hda2

and so on.
