I recently posted with the problem that XP at any given time was simply shutting down. After receiving a reply to check the event viewer each time it happened I duely did.

The only problem that I have know is that after identifying the culprit I have absolutely no idea what it is and Microsoft do not yet have help for the problem!

Can anybody assist further??

Thanks!

DCOM got error "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it. " attempting to start the service ImapiService with arguments "-Service" in order to run the server:

On my computer that number at the bottom of your post refers to............IMAPI.MSDiscMasterObj.1. The only Imapi in the list of Services on my computer is for the Cd Burning program of XP. (You find the services list in the same area as Event Viewer under Services and Applications). Right click on IMAPI CD Burning in the list to bring up property page. Click on the Dependencies Tab and see if that gives you any information. Are you using XP's CD Burning or do you burn with third party software.

People who I know are having problems with Windows XP CD Burning software. They have uninstalled and are using the Roxio one and it works fine. If I were you, I would uninstall that software.
