Random Voices Coming Through Speakers

A couple of times a day, random voice sounds can be heard through the speakers of my computer. It only lasts a second or two, and it sounds like someone who is angry about something. Virus and SpyWare scans reveal nothing unusual. We do have a wireless network in our house. I supposed it could be a random radio transmission, but it seems like it's the same voice all the time. The sound has only been coming through the desk-top speakers, which is hard-wired to the network. We have laptop that accesses our network wirelessly, but have not heard the voices through the laptop speakers.

I know this sounds a little crazy. (I usually ignore the voices in my head. LOL)

Has anyone else had a similar experience? Anyone have a solution/suggestion?

Thanks!
Dirk

you are probably picking up one of your neighbors' cell phone, private communications radio, CB radio or even a walkie talkie.

this is going back a ways but, the tolerances of "bleed over" from the FCC say that if you can identify the person interfering with something they are supposed to provide a remedy or some kind of filter.

Does it happen at regular times of day or randomly?

I am who I am and that's all that I am... (If I'm not supposed to be me, why do I look like me?)

Does the laptop use external speakers?
Does your plugs have three prongs?
Is there one of the huge radio antennas in someones back yard, or are u close to a AM radio station and their antenna, or are u close to an interstate that u may be getting CB radio chatter?
Sometimes a bad ground can cause such problems. If u have another sound system that u can borrow, connect it, if not, disconnect the speakers and use the internal speaker and see if u still get the 'voices'.U could connect the desktop speakers to the laptop too.
Or at least that is two out of the three voices in my head say.
Oh, u can also plug the power for speaker in a different outlet.

Thanks everyone.
I'll try some of the suggestions and see if the voices go away!
