Hello,
I'm new to this forum and just looking for a little help or direction.
I have IP Office in 2 of my buildings and one of them has a random clicking noise on all the lines and phones.
My software and hardware is:
IP 406 V 2.1 (73)
IP Office Voicemail Pro Client V2.1 (25)
IP Office Manager V 4.1 (73)
We've tested the T1s end to end with no errors.
Although I've pretty much taught myself the basics of this system I have no troubleshooting experience on Avaya. I'm pretty much limited to User setup and voicemail config.
Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

@jnangle, i think you've backed yourself into a corner here. time to switch the providers box or your T1/DS0 card.

@jnagle,
who is the provider on this? what is the adtran model? I am in a similar situation in the US with airspring.

all the T1 mentioning has made me read over the DS0 it seems.
35% have problems internal?
then I would do a test by disconnecting ANY line and make internal test calls, if it still happens take any expansion unit and disconnect it then test again and if it still happens replace the processor, if you have a processor then it would be quick and easy to do and then do more test calls, if it then STILL happens you have an external influence that causes it.

Hey guys. Are you sure this dude has PRI cards in his IPO. From his explanation of his equipment > Lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 201-216 < sounds to me like he has a ATM 4 and a Trunk 16 module.

He should run sysmon for 20 seconds then post the results. Also he should verify the contents of the Control Unit section.

Sorry for the gap in response.
I've been working other issues.
I've come to this idea, but I would like some guidance or tips if possible....
I have 2 systems in different buildings. I was thinking about swapping the contril units, but I'm not sure what is going to be involved.
The buildings use 2 different IP settings so I would have to change that configuration as well. The PC boxes would remain so the VMP stuff sould stay the same.
I just need to know now to swap the configs on the controllers themselves since the IP addresses will change.
like I said, not too up to date on Avaya.
Thanks,
Jeff

As long as the control units are identical i.e same version with same cards in same place etc, you can simply make sure you have an up to date copy of each systems .cfg file, open the config offline for box A and send it to box B and then box B will have box a's exact settings, then open box b's config offline and send that to box a. Now each box has swapped roles :)

even if they have different cards, back up the configs. default the boxes, swap the cards and then upload the right config to each box.

Never argue with an idiot. bystanders won't be able to tell the difference.

OK Hate to revisit this one, but we're still having trouble....
We have a random clicking on both digital and analog lines.
The system has been upgraded as well
Here is what's been done so far.
1. Commercial lines tested numerous times 100% clean
2. Wireless access points moved out of server room away from phone system.
3. Other electronic devices (cell phones, PDAs, etc) and chargers have been moved away from Avaya devices)
4. Switch (Cisco) showing no errors.
5. All equipment (ours and the vendors) have been properly grounded
6. New IP406 module installed.
7. Control Unit upgraded - IP406 3.2 (69)
8. VMP Upgraded - 3.2 (39)

I’m about to replace the entire building with Jitterbugs !!!!!

if you put in a new 406 why not upgrade to 4.2?

have you tried an excorsism?
sorry had to say that, so just to recap as well you have the problem on analog and IP devices which leaves only the system and the line as common factor but more then that I have no idea what to do rather then swapping stuff one by one until you get it. Or if you have a known good system take that to site plug it into the PRI and make test calls from that system without anything else connected to it but the line and the test phone.
