Hello,
I'm new to this forum and just looking for a little help or direction.
I have IP Office in 2 of my buildings and one of them has a random clicking noise on all the lines and phones.
My software and hardware is:
IP 406 V 2.1 (73)
IP Office Voicemail Pro Client V2.1 (25)
IP Office Manager V 4.1 (73)
We've tested the T1s end to end with no errors.
Although I've pretty much taught myself the basics of this system I have no troubleshooting experience on Avaya. I'm pretty much limited to User setup and voicemail config.
Any help that anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Riddle,
no pic showing on your post, sorry.

Really, I can see it, perhaps you are blocked from image hosting websites somewhere :)

Ahhhh.
Yea, I can be a dumb tech guy sometimes.... Content Filter (We're a school district)
Anyway, my config does not show the pri
it has line 01, 02, 03, 04 and then lines 201 - 216

OK, just got another update.
I asked the building about 2 dozen times if it was the analog and IP phones clicking and they said yes.
I just found out today that it is only the IP phones clicking. I'm sure this wasted my and all of your time on this. Welcome to my world.....
anyway, it seems only the IP phones are causing the problem, the analog phones are fine. Does this make a difference on what could be causing my problem?

Is there any possibility that this could come from the PC?
I have a new XPP box ready to go on this but was trying to correct the clicking issue first.

Do you have Qos enabled? Maybe the voice packets are not prioritized on the network.

I am with the Taker on this one, if only the IP sets are the clicking wonders then it is not the T1's, you could use a power brick for an IP set and connect it straight to the control unit and see if that still clicks, but most likely it is the switch.

Yea,
I'm gonna have to try it. Only prob is the School is on a limited budget. Not many extra switches around. I just hope it's isolated to the closed and not coming from the core. I know I don't have the $$$$$ to replace that.

Clicking issue.

1. Make sure they do not have their cell phone/cell phone chargers setting close to any of the IP phones or cables.
2. I realize this sounds crazy, but I swear this worked on a 3.2 IP Office, remove each user and extension which is "clicking". Reboot. Add them back in. I swear this worked for us just a week ago on a single IP phone which had clicking.

busster,
i'm 99% sure it is every IP phone, but at this point i'll try anything (even Norstar)
OK, well i'm not THAT desperate.... YET
I'll give the cell phone thing a try as well

Not ignoring you tom just didn't notice what you said post a mail and I'll send you a couple of US configs over if you want :)
jnagle75, if it's all on site, are they all attached to a single switch? Are they all going to have chargers next to them (probably not), you need to find the common link.

This is what scares me. I first was told that it was all the phones, IP and analog. Then I was told it is only the IP phones. I just sent an e-mail to all the building staff asking to reply if they have had recent problems. I asked for the location, type of phone, if it was an incoming, outgoing, or within the building call.

We have our core coming into the building and 4 other switches within the building.
If it is isolated to one area then I can narrow it down to one switch. If it is truly building wide it is either the switch that the phone system or the core.

The chargers are usually tucked away close by. I think the cables are 3-4 feet from the power adapters to the phones..

By chargers they mean for mobile/cell phones not the power injectors for IP phones. Are all the link ports on the switches/routers set too 100 full as oppose to auto-negotiate, as leaving one or both sides of a link to auto-negotiate will cause odd issues but often more serious than just clicking :)

Forget that charger comment just re-read your post :)

The link from the system to the swith is set for 100 Full

ports to the phones are auto

just sent another e-mail asking the staff to keep all cells, chargers, power adapters, and other electronic devices away from the phones.

OK, now I guess I’m back to the beginning.
I just verified from about 10-15 people that the click is on all phones (IP and analog) and seemingly building wide as I received complaints from every area.

I guess I gotta round up a new switch somehow.

so now you are back to the T1's
do they ever get clicking on internal calls? please say no, otherwise you will be ending up replacing the Processor.
clicking on the T1 (let's just assume that the clicking comes from there) one is set to clock from the network the other one is set to fallback? If both are set to Network then take one and change it.

Westi,
I should have clarified before. the T1's are connected to an Adtran and go into the system as DS0s.
I do not have T1 settings in the Manager.
so far I have roughly 65% of users show incoming calls are clicking, 95% on outgoing and 35% on internal
