Hello All,

I had someone bring me in their computer to fix that gives a blue screen saying system_license_violation. I have researched it and found no solutions. They do not have the installation disks either. I attempted a repair install but that option is not there when I load from my xp cd. Thanks in advance.

The exact error is 0x0000009A. They said no changes were made that they know of...

According to the link -
The SYSTEM_LICENSE_VIOLATION bug check has a value of 0x0000009A. This bug check indicates that the software license agreement has been violated.

From what I can find on the net it has to do with third party software, I would ask some more questions of the owner of the computer. Is it a groupd access pc - i.e does the family, roommate, girlfriend, boyfriend cat or dog have access to it?

Everything will be OK in the end.
If it's not OK, then it's not the end

Will it let you boot into Safe Mode?

Is there a Recovery Partition available if they have no CD?

Can you load the Recovery Console and run ChkDsk /r ?

Will not allow me to boot into safe mode. No receovery partition and I did run chkdsk with no luck. I talked to the woman who dropped it off and she said its a "family" computer. So basically from your comment, someone could have put on copied software which in turn caused the blue screen?

All of the info I could find on that particular error points to drivers related to or modification of an installed third party software.

Give this a read -
What happens when you try to boot into safe mode, does it hang?

It shows the same blue screen when booting into safe mode...
