I've noticed at 2 locations, 46xx and 56xx phones randomly rebooting. Sometimes, right in the middle of a call. The phones are new and used so that isn't the issue and it appears to eventually cycle through all the sets. In one location, I believe that that phones where up to date, however, they fetched firmware from the server.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Drew,

I'm by no means an expert but I've seen this on our site. It was being caused by the ethernet connection dropping so the phones would go to "No ethernet" and then start up again when the connection came through.

Apologies if I appear patronising, osmetimes it's the obvious things that get missed.

If you know the IP of the phones maybe it's worth running a ping trace to see if you get any drops in the connection?

Thanks

Andrew

I'd normally look at that myself, however, they are two different switches (Cisco and Netgear). I'm almost wondering if it's a broadcast packet or something.

It also cycles through them which is also odd.

Are you using vlans? Perhaps it's that the switch is getting busy and dropping packets? Normally that just causes poor call quality but if it's severe enough?

If you have more than one phone on one switch do they both go down at the same time?

Thanks

Andrew

as1981:

Not using vlans at one site and using vlans at the other. Only one phone at a time reboots. Call quality perfect at both locations due to an excess of bandwidth.

We have the same thing on our site. Have swapped out switches for a different brand and model. We are starting to think there is something wrong with LAN1 on the IPO.
