Ran1 trunk for AWU on O11

Hello Gents, not a very descriptive subject, but it's About the Automatic Wakeup Feautur on a Option11 running 5.0 software and MM.

I Got to this Pbx with the problem that the AWU and the DND feature aren't working anymore. It seems the Card on which the trunks have programmed on was moved physically and the wiring was screwed up.
We have connected the paging system and the music on hold accordingly, but there are no wires on the Ran1 and Ran2 trunks.
Should there something be wired physically to the Ran1 and Ran2 trunks?
Couldn't find anything in the NTP's (Might not have looked in the right place)

No, RAN is directly on the card itself.

A RAN route has to be built for each RAN announcement you have.

The reason you would ever physically connect a wire to a RAN is for MOH source, but if you have Univ. Trunk Card, do not use analog port on RAN card for that.

Oh! Well then, your dealing with 4 port MerMail Card.

Details of that card are out of my realm of knowledge, hopefully someone else can help you with that.

Sorry, i thought we were dealing with MIRAN cards.

You need to check again because to my knowledge the meridian mail does not supply any wake up functionality. That is a function of the PBX and yes it will use a RAN card.

Go to ld 21 and type LTM and get a list of trunks. You can then get the TN of the RAN trunks that are programmed in the system and look at the card in that slot to see what card it is.

You are either going to have a MIRAN card or a NT8D14XX card for the wakeup recordings.

Are you getting any ERR220 messages on teh terminal?

It's a NT8D14AK And the music trunks on it work accordingly.

I will post my AWU_Data, AWR trunks and AWU routes asa I get them captured. Anything else I should add that is of use?

do you have an interalia or some other external RAN device in the room? That should be connected to the ran trunks.

hey guys, I've got some more info on the matter.
seems they have a HMS package with their meridian mail, so the RANS are handled internally.

We've located the problem too, it seems the status of the PMS and the SLI link is down.
The external PMS system is connected through tty 2.
Now when the dataswap takes place, the (ext.)PMS succeeds in changing the CPND on the room sets, but it fails to communicate the status of the Room in the HMS part of Meridian Mail.

So what we get is a set showing the attendee's name when called/calling, but without a mailbox assigned to it, because the status is still on vacant in the HMS system. When you reach the 4th ring it jumps to 'this room is not occupied' voice message of the HMS.

We recently upgraded the Option 11c to 5.0 software, and between the upgrade and the occurance of the problem, there is a month where, either they didn't notice or it worked, part. And the Rooms that we're checked in at the time it stopped working, remain checked in for good now. The AWU and DND work on those Rooms, because of the Active status in the MMAIL's HMS.

This is what I've allready tried:
Resetting the MMail, dis/enl the agents. (no progress)

What I would like to understand is how I can enable the links again. I don't think it is a cable issue, atleast I don't see any other connection other than the serial cable from the PMS system and the PBX through tty 2.
The PMS system does succesfully communicate the CPND to the sets so I assume the cable is in order.

does 5.0 even support mermail? it should not be a layer one issue.. i would connect a lap top to tty 2 to see if your getting msgs to that point
