I am not sure if this is the right section but here goes.
I built a new system. I am having several issues.
Someone suggested that I turn off the raid controllers till
i get the issues resolved.
I still have about 2 remaining issues but I decided that the pc was much quicker with the raid controllers on.
So I reenabled it on the mobo and XP detected and installed the drivers.
My problem is that when booting up, right after it detects the hard drives and the cdroms another black screen flashes
and says it can not find the primary slave, primary master, secondary master and secondary slave with the raid controller.
then it says that the megaraid controller could not be configured.(this flashes very quickly to read it I have to push the pause button)
Then it continues to load windows xp normally.
XP says the drivers are installed correctly.
But since disabling the raid controllers i notice that my pc is like 50% slower.

MY specs are:
KK266plus-r IWILL motherboard
1048 sdram (2 - 512 sticks)
1.5 ghz processor
1 - 4x dvd player
1- tdk 40x burner
Geforce 4 MX 420 video card - PCI
1 - 60 gig hd
1 - 40 gig hd

Thanks for any help

Do you have any drives connected to the raid controller? If not this is normal. The bios is searching for drives on the raid controller and not findig any.

Oh.. good question! Well..I know this is going to sound really stupid.. but I honeslty don't know.
I will have to go back and find out where the controller connector is.
This system was originally going to be built by someone else and I did not see in the manuel a raid controller connector so I installed like you normally would.

I am searching for the raid controller plug in now!

Thanks

ok.. here is how it went.
I found the raid controler plugs.
I put the hd's in the raid controler plug
and I put the cdroms in the ide plug.
(I had the raid driver installed in windows)
When it gets to the windows logo screen with the blue 3 bar thing going across.. it totally freezes.
I tried to reinstall windows but it hangs on starting window.
I ended up disabling the raid controllers, putting every thing back on ide.
and all I can say at this point is:

BLAH!
