The touch screen on our aloha system is simply way off. No one can enter their employee numbers to enter sales.

Our business is going through a lot of management shifts which is putting a lot of stress on everyone. If I could just fix this seemingly simple problem (which takes out 1/3 of our computers) without paying for tech support it would help out tremendously.... However, I have no clue where to even start. I know a fair amount about mechanics but know next to nothing about technology. Is there any way anyone help??

on the terminal log in as manager, select system then calibrate. run the touch program as prompted.

Don't know if this has been fixed yet but, if you can vnc out to your terminal from your file server, you can access the calibrate function from there so that you can get your cross hairs. Then walk to the terminal and finish calibrating.

Or plug a keyboard into it, hit the Windows key on the keyboard, go to programs and navigate to the cablibration using the keyboard.

We have a same problem but we do not use the Aloha for the cost reason. However, we still have the Aloha software in our hard drive. Here are steps we do to calibrate the touch screen:

1. Power your Radian with a mouse attached.
2. Click on "My Computer", then "Local Disk(C:)"
3. You should see the folder "P15xx". Click on this foler.
4. You should see the file "tcalib.exe". Click this file to run the calibration program.
5. Follow the directions on the screen. At the end your touch screen should be calibrated.

Hope this help.

Not sure if this has been solved yet but just in case I wanted to post. I have had this problem with some Radiant terminals as well. I have found that relinearizing the touchscreen can help even when the calibration tool doesnt work. To do this follow these steps:

1. Plug in a mouse to use for selecting items.
2. Click on Start. Select Programs|Microtouch Touchscreen
3. Select Screen Calibration Tools|Options|Advanced|Enable Linearisation|Close|Close|
4. Select Tools|Linearize

This will be similar to calibrating it but does more from my experience.
