Radeon 8500 in Windows XP

When I play graphic intensive games, Black & White at the moment, after about 5 minutes everything freezes, the computer restarts. This is extrodinarily frustrating.. and I'm about to pull my hair out. I have updated the driver, played with the video options... and nothing seems to work. When I looke at the data for the crash it points to a minidump directory?

Windows XP HomeEdition, build 2600.
512MB Physical RAM, 3.67 GB Virtual
Radeon 8500/Radeon 8500LE, 64MB ram

Help, please.

Hmm I turned off my antivirus software and the problems seems to have fixed itself...
