We have Mitel 3300 running 8.0.11.7 using embedded voicemail. I have removed a voicemail port from the voicemail huntgroup and created a new hunt group with that voicemail port and set it up as a RAD. I can dial the extension and list to the recording. I want to have an extension where the person will call and the rad will pickup and start playing, but a phone button will blink or ring. The call will end when either the caller hangs up or the call is picked up.

If someone can help me out that would be great.

thanks

Create rad (done as mentioned in your post)
Create a key line on the phone
Program the key line as a member in a hunt group
Assign the RAD to the hunt group:
From the Help Files said:
Enter the directory number of the RAD containing the first message to be given to callers when members of the hunt group are busy, in Do Not Disturb or when they fail to answer the call. A timer, defined in the Class of Service Options Assignment form, determines how long the caller listens to ringback while waiting for the first message.

I believe the only way to do this is with a hunt group.
Add the phone(s) you want to ring in the hunt group, assign your RAD in the hg.
The phone will ring and the rad will play and stop playing as soon as the call is answered.
The COS of the RAD controls how quickly it picks up.

ok great, i got that working.

Do you see any complications with me setting up another rad and a multi-level auto attendant where pressing 1 goes to an english hunt group playing an english rad and pressing 2 goes to a spanish hunt group playing a spanish rad. Each telephone would have two buttons assigned, one for the spanish hunt group and one for the english hunt group.

thanks again!

No problem but I would make a recommendation.

The MLAA on embedded mail has several limitations that I normally choose to avoid.

Instead, I would use an ACD path with an Agent group assigned that allows queueing with no agents logged in. I would set up the first RAD to play the menu choice and assign the key choices in the Path Interflow Dialing List Assignment form. Setup the Path interflow timer to be a few seconds longer than the RAD message and send it to a "Default" as well. (English?)

Advantages of this setup:
- Message can play to multiple callers simultaneously each having their choices go where they want.
- Less RAD ports required (see above)
- Call is instantly cut thru to choice instead of switchhook flash and transfer.

I wish to have a hunt group with a rad , in case the hunt group is busy , the rad is played until the call is picked up from the hunt group.

I have created a rad, I have created a hg rad type with the vm port inside.

If I call to this HG rad, the rad is played.

but, if the voice hg is busy, the caller does not hear the rad.

3300 cxi with 16 vm ports
VM port 14 62*5 as rad
5212 = 5212ipphone
HG 6215 type rad / phase timer = 1 / members = 62*5
HG 6220 type voice / rad1=6215 / members = 5212

Thanks for you help
