Riddle, are you on teh beta? Remote worker is not limited to 2, you get 2 free.

What user licenses are you using on essential that would cause a problem? Mobile, wont matter as everyone gets mobile twinning.

Yes there may be instances that Power User will be disabled, but talk to the CAMS, they will assist with these 1% cases.

Skipi I was thinking the same thing, it's like they have gone back to the 4.0 fiasco wih upgrade to pro and licenced VPN phones, except the upgrade to pro is renamed and over twice the price and standard version is more like a Panasonic from 1989. They dress it up with a transparent cover story that it's to simplify selling and make features more affordable, I think they will find that at 3.2 it was the easiest it has been to sell and was cheaper than the equivalent system is now by a fair margin, the new features since 3.2 have been to keep up with the competition and hardly warrant a price rise

We know that Peter, that's not what we are complaining about now, there's so much to complain about we have moved on to make sure we cover it all.

P.s I wouldn't be surprised if they stop you ordering the upgrade licence for systems bought after R8 was released or something like that

Just a quick question
Would this work get new IP500V2 and SD card
Recreate SD with V7 on and set the system up with one IP phone then upgrade to V8 within 90 days
Would you get V8 Virtual Essential edition for free?

You will get an virtuall license that runs for 90 days.
After those 90 days then it will be disabled and you cannot call anymore.
You need to add the essential edition license within the 90 days.

I seem to remember in the Beta docs a reference to a BT version of IPO. Im guessing the other one is related to B5800 ?

The BT RACE LIC has something to do with the Nortel emulation edition, the IPO branch essntl mg lic is for migrating from ipo essential to the b5800 branch software. That is used with Avaya CM as the support for SIP trunks to Avaya CM has been suspended in IP Office

It is a trial license and nothing more.

Then, this is a BUG or no? I think this is unreal. Why then a customer in maintenemance in 7 will he want upgrade to R8?

I think it should show an expire date so that could be a bug.

But there are two scenarios:

1) new system, 990 days trial licenses, after that you will need an essential edition license for IPO mode.
2) upgrade to 8.0, you will need a cheaper upgrade license. If not then it will not run IPO mode.

I was just taking to our distributor. He says you can definately upgrade to r8 within 90 days as long as you have the R7 preferred license. You won't need to purchase an upgrade or the essential license.
