Hello,

Running the latest 8.1 on IPO500v2 with embedded voicemail. What's the best way to create an announcement-only voicemail box such that a message cannot be left by the caller?

I've read about VM Pro solutions, but I've not seen anything for embedded VM.

I want the caller to listen to an auto-attendant, then enter an extension and listen to a recorded message, and have options to breakout and be transferred to an extension, but not leave a message.

TIA!

Just make a 2nd auto attendant, with the *84XX recording what you want the caller to listen to. You could just use a selector code in the 1st auto attendant to transfer here. Then in this new auto attendant, make the 0 go to to your breakout extension.

Thanks, TTT;

This sounds like a good idea, however the "ID number", (extension number) callers will be entering is 401 - 420. This is for a real estate hotline scenario ... signs are already printed and in place. The old PBX (talkswitch) transfers to a mailbox configured to "announcement only" which would not allow the user to leave a message after the greeting (house information) is played.

I thought about creating a 1st auto attendant as you suggested that would instead transfer to a User that was configured to Unconditionally Forward back to the appropriate auto attendant, but it won't let me forward to an auto attendant ("No match found for the specified alias").

Am I on the right track?

Thanks!

Nevermind, that works!

AA 03: "Welcome enter the id number now"
action 4: Dial by number

410 -> User 410 Unconditional Forward: *8604

Shortcode *86XX/Auto Attendant/"AA:"N

Leads to Auto Attendant 04 (hard coded in User 410's Uncond. Forward)
