I've been reading about the new Remote H323 Extensions capability provided by R8.0 allowing remote connection of a 9600 Series phone without the need for a VPN. Section 9.31.2 (Remote H323 Extensions) of the Avaya IP Office Manager 10.0 documentation talks about using on of the lan interfaces and assigning a public IP to it. However, nowhere does it say that you need a VCM to use this feature. Does anyone know definitively if you need a VCM or not?
