Getting random reboots and I cant seem to pin down why.

I have several traces with the reboots in them If any one has the time to take a look at the logs here is the zip file download link: any help would be greatly appreciated.

I mean the ipo it's power supply :)

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

We are DJUplift's client. When we see our system reboot, the email report does say reboot from 'power fail'.

We checked the cable, by wiggling both ends. Also verified the the UPS the IPO is connected to is happy. We have been running this IPO continuously prior to the upgrade on 5/24.

The power supply starting to fail in the IPO at the same time as the upgrade seems unlikely, unless the upgrade somehow changed the load on the power supply.

It reboots after an upgrade so you never know.
The ip500 does not have the best power supply you can get and some just stop working.
I never seen a power fail other then pulling the plug.

We reboot regularly - about once per week for Hold Music updates.

We previously had a problem with conference center (year or more ago) - that presented as reboot from power fail. Our fix at that time was to quit using conference center.

The power supply may be worth exploring, especially if there is any warranty (?).

2 years.

And it is not replaceable.

I have several in stock @jbra I can bring one by this afternoon if you would like to explore this as an issue.

I think they have now reduced the warranty to 1 year mind

for systems bought after 1 march this year.
Everything before that has 2 years.

With the 500's and V2's not having the best power supplies in the world and non-replaceable (big mistake by Avaya) I would consider using an external source for hold music, all those reboots will not help matters :)

I totally agree !!!
If there is no need to reboot then do not do it!

I would love to use an external source. However we use all 4 sources - marketing messages for different companies in the building. Thoughts on being able to use multiple sources? Management would love it if I could do more than 4 sources.

I am still not sold on the power supply being the issue. Thoughts on downgrade vs. swap IPO?

I am thinking downgrade!!

That would be djuplifts decision I'd say, you pay him for maintenance and he is liable/responsible for any costs and repercussions resulting from it (depending on contract), this is a discussion best had with him, but personally I would downgrade first :)

A small addition, the audit trail can't be fully relied upon at the moment as in R6 it gives false licence change reports, so it may be a false report of power fail as oppose to a reboot...just a thought :)

Is it worth paying an upgrade fee for buggy software?

"Never fear billing a client for services rendered, or they will think your time is worthless"

I do agree though that if you are going to pay for upgrades that were previously free you would hope that there would be more money and time put into developing the software so it was more stable/reliable straight out the box, your hopes though would be completely unfounded :)

agree w/ @amriddle01. The reason we did the upgrade is b/c we purchased an additional box to add to our system.
