R5 Archiving problem

Greetings,

I'm having a problem with a user's archiving setting.
Using R5 and the user is unable to archive. When I check his settings it has the default archiving setting (365 days)

I change the settings to 30 days and start archiving. What I try to archive it looks like it starts to run for a few seconds, then says "object variable not set" and stops.
When I look at the settings again, they have reverted back to the original default.

Any ideas? Any help would be much appreciated.

Make sure that the live mail file and the archive mail file are both on the same version of the mail template.
