Quick , Getting the following alarm:
PORT MTCE NAME ERR TYPE AUX DATA
01A R-MEDIA 1793 201
STO-DATA 543 0
CAN ANYONE HELP,DO I BUSY OUT HOST ADAPTER AND RELEASE?
Hey mikeydidit, thank's for your response. I fixed the problem . This is what I did it.
1.) tested alarms a couple times, alarm still present.
2.) disp errors, tested media 01a long- still in alrm.
3) list config software-versions long- here I noticed the R-MEDIA SECOND COPY: "inconsistent"
3.) Tried backup disc, still had alrm. Then, I rmoved the removable media disc, installed and ran back-disc again. At this time, I ran test removable-media 01a long-the only fail was test no. 811(Audit Test). For kick's I ran test alrms 2 more times and alrm clear.....Oh Well-now I can leave !
Thank's again,

It sounds like you have a bad optical diskette which happens. Sometimes they are picky about which drive they are in too. At one time I marked the diskettes (4) so I could put them back into the drive they were "happy" in. This saved a lot of headaches. The above commands will not fix your problems or make them go away if it is the diskette.
If the optical drive is the culprit then use testinads2005 suggestions and that is the correct procedure for replacing/reseating that drive HOT. I have never had to reseat a optical disk drive though, just the old tape drives.
Look for this to come up again, I am sorry to say.
Hell, there are no rules here - we're trying to accomplish something.
