R.I.P. 1

Good Afternoon,

I have an NEC 2400 IPX that has R.I.P. comming up in the display on my Dterm sets. What causes this and how do you get rid of it?

<ROFL> I'm sorry... I don't have an answer for that one, other than the initial thought that ran through my mind.....

The phone system died, and the Dterms are mourning it....

Actually it means reset in progress. ACD positions that are improperly deleted or programmed incorrectly will show this in the display. I have heard rumours of old NEC systems showing "jack off" instead of "R.I.P".

Once again, since I love playing games like Final Fantasy... you might want to either use a Phoenix Down or cast "Full Life". ;)

Gary: Well, I learned something today.... thanks for the explaination of what R.I.P. *really* stands for....

AFNTT: Seriously, though... were the phones affected part of an ACD group? Did they just start doing this, or did they do it after you did something? Do you have a current backup on your MAT terminal of your phone system that you could restore?

Gary: Im getting a kick out of this myself and really appreciate all your info.
I first thought when I seen the R.I.P. that it was some funny guy engineer that picked out a port and made his mark with this statement, as you can imagine some people can really freek out seeing this on thier phone.
We recently installed a new ACD for our help desk this past week and in addition to the R.I.P. that I have seen on a couple of phones we are also unable to call our helpdesk from a remote 2400 with fusion.

Its driving me crazy, but having fun.
 
The crazy thing is that there is one set thats ACD and another thats not. Do you think I need to delete and reprogram these stations, if so no big deal.

I'm now woundering how many other sets are out these with this on it but has not reported it.

We found out that rebuilding our monitor number for our new ACD resolved out inability to call between sites to the help desk.
 
Reprogramming worked, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
