I've been searching around and haven't found a concise answer. We have an old CM6.3 PBX on G650s. It has been removed from the network and effectively decommissioned.

Security isn't wanting us to just power down and turn it over to a reseller, and I agree with them. They want no identifying information left on anything, no extensions, node names, IP addresses, etc.

Is there an easy way to basically "zero out" the entire system, all cards, etc.? Or am I going to be doing a whole ton of remove commands and manually resetting the IPSIs?

At this point it is an isolated system. There is one tie trunk to the "new" system, but I'm not worried about that at this point.

It's 4 G650s in two PNs. All in one datacenter.

Reinstall 6.3 or at least delete the CM template from the VSP console. All of the information is stored on the server, the only info on a card would be the IP of the IPSI itself.

If you're just getting rid of the G650s and the cards and not the server(s) running 6.3 then you should be fine.

Thanks Sean655, we are getting rid of it all. It's an entire PBX on the G650s. CM6.3 is not being run on VMs or rackmount servers, it's on the G650s. Or at least that is my understanding, haha, can you tell I inherited this old system?

Sounds like you might have an s8400 card running the system but I don't think you could run CM 6 on an 8400. You can confirm by running "list config all" and looking for a card in slot 2 to be TN8400. If that's the case, you can remove that 8400 circuit board and remove/replace/format the Compact Flash card that is installed on the board; not the CF card that slides into the front. The CF card that has all of the data would be a 2 or 4 GB card.

Right on. It's been offline for a while so I can't get to it from the network. I'll have to go visit the site. But I believe you are right. It's been a few years since I ran a list config all on it and I think they are loaded with S8400s. Security is content with all extension data (so all translations I guess) and all IP addresses being sanitized. Sounds like removing those CF cards and resetting the IPSIs will do it.
