Hi folks,

One of the developers for a system we are interfacing w/ asked for a data dictionary for some of the fields. I know we "should" have one, but the guy who would know isn't in.

I know that the developers have tried to keep the help system updated. I know Remedy is pretty much totally data driven. I think that there is a way to write a Crystal Report against the correct joins to get a list of form fields paired with the associated help text (what we get from the "What's This" button).

Does anybody have a method that will help me figure out what tables I need to join / how, to pull the field names from the correct form, and what table to join to that will give me the Help Text?

I think this will be very helpful to the develpers from other systems, but also for us Crystal developers.

Depending on the type of database on the backend that you have, you can get this type info from there, we use TOAD for Oracle, and can see a schema browser to see the underlying tables, etc.

RequestID is usually the primary key for evey form, besides that its how you dictate it.
