Hello,

We recently upgraded from Cognos Impromptu 6.0 to 7.1, and periodically have the following problem -- when creating reports that use summaries, several of the fields are returned as "Unsupported SQL Type" or simply "Unsupported Type."

When the report is re-run, the data returns properly.

Our users are able to get the data they need, but this is more of an annoyance, having to re-run reports, as many of them take hours to complete.

Does anyone know why we might be getting these errors? Someone recommended that we set our Query Processing option to "Flexible Processing."???

Thanks,
Michelle

Michele,

I never had this problem but do you know if the database is open automatiquely when the catalog is open?

Show this option «Tools-Options-General tab» and active this options if it's not.

gilles.

Gilles,

Thanks for the reply -- I did check, and the "auto-attach to the database when the catalog is opened" option was already turned on.
