On booting up I am receiving the error message "Unable to initialize Page". Googling that error message has not led me to a way to eliminate it. Suggestions?

is this a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) message or a Windows error error box?

if it is a BSOD, please note the stop error code...

if it is a windows error box, then boot into SafeMode, once booted to the Desktop:

[Start] right click [My Computer] click [Properties] Click [Advanced] tab then click [Settings] in the [Performance] section Click the [Advanced] tab and then click [Change] under the [Virtual Memory] section...

there remove the PageFile, from the C drive and move it to another partition...

in case you do not have a second partition, then remove the pagefile by setting the the tick on "NO PAGEFILE", hit OK to accept the change...

it will usually ask you to reboot, DO NOT reboot at this time... instead navigate to the C: partiton, there you will find the file called PAGEFILE.SYS, delete this file... if it is not present then Windows already removed it...

NOW reboot, back into SafeMode, navigate once again to the point where you can set the PageFile size... this time tick the "System Managed Size" box click OK and then Reboot...

Sorry for the delay in responding. It was not a BOD but simply a Windows error message. On subsequent reboots, that error message seems to have gone away by itself. So, I think I'm going to follow the advice in your tag line: "If it works, don't fix it!" Thanks very much for your expert advice. I'm saving it...just in case.
