"Too many Files open" Error

Hello:
I run a Fox Pro 2.6 For Windows program... it appears "To many Files open" error... I have Windows ME... could you help me?? I tried to put in config.sys: Buffers=60 Files=250... but when I restart windows this lines are erased...

You need to create (or modify) an entry in the [386Enh] section of SYSTEM.INI to specify the maximum files open at one time per VM:

PerVMFiles=nnn

numbers > 223 are not handled right; the number is max files + 31 < 255 or stuff can happen, like the number gets ignored. You can make the entry using MSCONFIG or NOTEPAD.
