During this game, (Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon) my computer would randomly crash and I would get a BSOD for about 1/2 a second and then the computer would restart, when XP has loaded again, I would get this message:

"This system has recovered from a serious error"

Error Code:

BCCode:c5 BCP1:00000000 BCP2:00000002 BCP3:00000001
BCP4:8053A105 OSVer:5_1_2600 SP:1_0 P roduct: 768_1

Error Report Contents:

The following files will be included in this error report:

C:\\Windows\Minidump\Mini121804-08.dmp
C:\Docume~1\Owner\Locals~1\Temp\WER5.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml

Googling only tells me that I should get this crash if I overclock, which I don't.

Please help me fix this problem and play this game!

Thank you very much!

In BIOS setup, try "Safe", or "Minimum", or whatever your BIOS calls it. If it still does it, start looking at the video card. It may not be up to the task. Download and run "Memtest86". Is the case and vid card clean? May be a heat problem when stressed. I burned out a vid card because the cooling fan was too close to the next PCI card. What is the size of your power supply? What we are looking for is a problem that doesn't show up until the Game really "pushes" the system.

One other thing, have you tried the game in another computer? May be a bad CD!

I don't know if this would help but I went into System > Advanced > and unchecked the "automaticaly restart" checkbox. When I tried the game again, where it would normally restart, I just get a blue screen.

Is the game compatibe with XP? If it was written for an earlier version of Windows, that may be the problem.

Does your computer meet the minimum requirements for this game? processor/system memory and MOST IMPORTANT video memory requirements.

When you submint the error reports to Microsoft does it come back with any type of answer..

This could be a video card driver problem.. make sure your drivers are up to date.

My specs are all WELL over the reccomended, and yes my video drivers are all up to date. However I don't think my motherboard's are. This is because I cannot find the model name of it, I know it's an ASUS, but when I use a program like Everest Diagnostics tool, it says the model is unknown. I have the serial number though.

I have a dell laptop with a virus which turns off computer in x seconds and reboots. i have run various virus scan software downloaded from here. nothing seems to stop this beast. tried to format harddrive but couldnot from dos mode. tried going througn mycomputer to delede c: and couldnt. any suggestions how to delete so i can reboot with win xp. hung up in hazard.
