"Site unseen"

Aren't they using 'sight unseen'? My understanding of this is 'buyer beware'.
 
In the text, the author (Pete Evanow) correctly states 'sight unseen', which implies to me that he knows what he's doing. Further evidence is that when making reference to eBay and autotrader.com the word "sight" is in parenthesis. I think this is an intentional play on words.

I like the ending:
Perhaps in this case it's time to revise caveat emptor into "e-caveat emptor."
