"SEARCH" problem

I am having a problem with serching documents using the "SEARCH" in the start menu on Windows XP.

I tried searching for a document in a certain location using the SEARCH option and it is not finding, however if I manually serch for it in the location it is in I will find.

Does anyone know what the problem could be with the "SEARCH" in Windows?

Have you updated to SP1? There were some fixes to the Search function, especially when searching for a word or phrase.

yea it has SP1 applied.

Click on WIN XP FIXES on the left of the page and look for "Win XP Search Problems".

See if the fix for "Can't find files containing text...." fixes it for you.
