Dear all,

We have an Exchange site that seems to be having problems with e-mails. We have found no pattern (there must be one somewhere) but certain e-mails will not open although they have been delivered and you can see the subject in the inbox. When we check the sent items from the sender they give the same message. They will not be previewed and "path not found" is displayed when we try and open them. We have been in discussion with MS and have run eseutil (with switches) and isinteg as it is thought that there was a corruption yet we are still seeing it happen. File backups are not accessing exchange and only exchange aware antivirus products are scanning. Any ideas?

Update,

Exmerged all mailboxes out (the new exmerge utility is much better) and then back in again. Still finding messages with "path not found". Built a new box in the same site and moved (not exmerge) all mailboxes to this new box. All working fine with no "path not found" problems and no lost messages. Tested a mailbox by moving it back to the "old" (it is actually brand new) box and started getting the errors again. Latest from Microsoft is that they are convinced it was caused by a antivirus file scanner and they intend to write an article on it.

Not surprising I got no replies;-)
