Hi,
A client of mine has a mailbox where he also opens and sends on behalf of someone else however we wish to not advertise the fact that it's not his mailbox. For example -

From: John On Behalf Of Steve
> Sent: Monday, 17 March 2003 12:19 PM
> To: 'naomi@gov.au'
> Subject: test

Can we get rid of the "on behalf of"?

Thanks

If they have send on behalf of permissions on the server it should be right. then u go into outlook and add the from bar by opening a new mail and going view, add from field. then choosing the user from the GAL, you should be right. do a test before u send tho When in doubt, kick 'er in the guts

Thanks however the basics have already been done. We have set all the send on behalf permissions, permissions to open the mailbox and added the from field however when an email is sent in this fashion, it comes up with the above message.

The mailbox HAS to be openened within the Account settings of Exchange: Open another Mailbox. That actually logs you in to the mailbox. Then you can send as that mailbox.

If you just do a file open.... or just give permissions, it will be a On behalf of. [sub]If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Thanks Again however the mailbox is added and does also appear in the main screen. I do not need to choose it from the file menu.

Ok, in that case, the default users has to have full rights to the mailbox.
You do not need to set the Send on Behalf opton. Just make sure the default user has all the rights to the other mailbox.
When done, as toddster72 mentioned, create a testmessage, click the From field and select user2 (the other) as the sender from the Global Address List. [sub]If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.
