I am modifying an existing report in Crystal 8.5 with that provides a summary of procedures, patients, and minutes by period, quarter, and YTD. Each period represents one month of data with period one being July. When I run the report for period one, the data is correct. When I change my selection to period two, the period data is 0 and the quarter and YTD data is the same as it was for period one. There is also a graph that is supposed to represent the period data but it disappears when i change the period from period one. I have tried everything I can think of to make this work. I found one formula that does not show up on the report but simply has "Now" on it. What is this formula for? Any help will be appreciated!

Now is the same as currenttime function, in that it returns the time.

Not sure what you want other than this, you don't show any formulas, example data, or expected output, I guess you just wanted to know what NOW does.

I am trying to figure out why my report will not show updated summary data when I change the period from period one. There are several summary formulas on the report that use YTD files. The summaries show the number of patients, the number of procedures, and the number of minutes for the period of interest, the quarter the period is in, and year to date. I have chosen the YTD period as my selection criteria but it will only show the correct data when I select period one, which is the first month of the fiscal year.

Try going to database->verify database.

Then also copy your record selection formula into the thread. You haven't provided enough information for people to be able to help so far.

I verified the database and it is up to date. Here is the selection formula:

{YTD_OR_STATS.REPORT_TYPE} in [3.00] and
{CORP_REPORT_GROUPS.DESCRIPTION} = "SURGERY" and
{YTD_OR_STATS.PERIOD} = 1.00

Okay, we still can't tell much from that. Try commenting out the last line and instead add the period field to the detail section of the report so you can see how it is populated.

We don't know what formulas you used, if they are demostrating specific time periods, then you need to code accordingly.
