"NOT ALLOWED" ON FLASH TALK

I RECENTLY INITIALIZED A FLASH TALK 2.0 ON A CICS 4.1. I DID F903 AND SET UP THE SYSTEM. WHEN I WENT INTO F983 AND DIALED 120000 THE RESPONSE WAS "NOT ALLOWED". HAS ANYONE SEEN THIS BEFORE? I THEN SET UP AN MICS 4.1 AND IT DID THE SAME THING. IN MAINT MODE I SEE THE PORTS ARE IDLE AND SET TO STLK. IT ACTS NORMAL BUT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO GO TO ADMIN MODE.

Check to see if your Group List leading digit has been set to 1. If so try using 220000,2020000,20020000, depending on your DN length. Also make sure you are not switching to a 7208 for admin. programing. Hope this helps.

You may have a Flash Lite. It is mailbox only. I ran into teh same problem a while back. Had to get new Flash and software and that fixed the problem.

If you have a PC and a DB25M to DB9F cable, you can look at the Flash with hyperterminal.

The settings are 1200 8n1 flow control: None

If you get a login prompt use SYSMGR all caps.
You can do a directory report from menu 1,1,4.

This will tell you what the System Coordinator mailbox DN is. If the password is changed, it can be reset with a special feature code command.

See my above reply. Use hyperterminal to check it.
You can try hooking it up and see if it will respond with login or not. If not power it off and then back on a minute or so later. What the screen for anything that fails the status check.

Sometimes they just go to sleep and need a reboot. Other times, all is lost and you need to re-build.
