All of a sudden any attempt to get to ‘My Computer’ or ‘Explorer’ either directly or through some software results in a ‘not responding’ message on my pc. If I ignore the message and wait - up to 15 minutes - eventually it appears, but then i have to wait for the next connection to be made.

If I use software like Explorer #2, or ACBrowser I have no problems accessing files on the pc and if I use the drop-down arrow in applications I can get where I want to go when loading or saving.

Any suggestions, thoughts?

Thanks

Yes - plenty across two domains and network printers. It was one particular network where the problem was occurring. After posting I discovered that various computers on this network were exhibiting dificulties in different areas such as logging on, shutting down, applications not loading, general slowness and the mycomputer/explorer issue.

In the end we rebooted the server (2000 I think, maybe 2003) and all the problems seemed to have cleared up! We thought it might have been a network hardware issue but it appears to be one of those mysterious windows things!
