Somehow during the development of a project it got put on the "master guidelines layer" of Corel Draw. I am unable to extract it and get it back on layer 1 and can't print it (laser engraver) as is. I have a lot of time invested in this project and hate to start all over. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

Not sure of problem just tried it here on X3 and objects can be moved from layer to layer, to confirm you say you can't drag the object onto the layer 1 in the object docker list. What version od Draw are you using.

I am using v.12. Have tried dragging to another layer but no luck. I very well may not be doing it correctly.

Can you confirm that the object docker is open and the layers concerned are not locked.
Alan D

The object docker was open but I'm not sofisticated enough on the program to know to know if the layers are locked.

In the object docker beside the layer name are 3 icons, the:
Eye = show or hide layer objects (that layer only)
Printer = enable/disable printing that layer
Pencil icon = lock or unlock that layer
Clicking on then will either grey them out or activate them

That was the problem, the layer was locked. That solved my problem and I thank you very much.
