When using "FIND" ACROBAT opens up a window for the search argument and parameters which occupy about 1/3 of the screen, reducing the size of the main (text) window
and making it unreadably small.

Is there any way to eliminate/turn off/make invisible this nuisance window ?

...according to my version (Pro 7) there is a 'search' option with the window you describe (shift/apple or shift/control F)...

...and also the 'find' command (apple F or control F)...

...the 'find' command has a much smaller dialogue...

Shift/control/F doesn't do anything, control/F opens the same window which takes up 24 % of the screen leaving
36% for the text.

...is your version pro or the free reader?

...in my pro version there is, under the edit menu, two choices to search and to find. It maybe that your version is slightly older and does not have this alternative. Have a look under the edit menu, if no other choices available then you are stuck with it unless you get another version...
