Is there a way to get the "Fill out this form" button in Sharepoint Form libraries to work using Firefox? Currently, I am receiving a dialog box stating that, "This feature requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later and a Windows Sharepoint Services-compatible XML editor such as Microsoft Office Infopath."

It works when I run it in IE, but Firefox is the company's browser of choice.

Hello,

Well FireFox is not a supported browser to use with SharePoint (atleast not yet :( ). There are a couple of things that does not work at all with FireFox and SharePoint.

Would be nice if it could be used in the future though.

Cheers,
Thomas

Sharepoint was designed to run on the MS Office stack. This means that it works best if you have Office 2003, InfoPath 2003, FrontPage 2003, IE6, Active Directory, Exchange Server, BizTalk and so on.

Your attitude toward Mozilla should be 'it's a miracle it works at all'. Think of Sharepoint as an enterprise application ("heavy configuration and fixed deployment") instead of as a shrinkwrap application ("run everywhere"), and it makes a little more sense. Enterprise apps don't have to be flexible--they just have to work.

And what would be another one besides InfoPath, or besides a MS product?

Ok, thanks, guys.... I will make the recommendation that we switch our browers back to IE, 'cause using Infopath is required by management.
