"filaname.doc,v"- how to open this file?

Hi,
Can any one please let me know what it mean if a file name is like this : filename.doc,v
and how to open this file?
When I am trying to open this file using wordapd, it is not readable.

Maybe you can try to rename the file in
filename.doc
and try to open it with WinWord

This looks to me like a file being used by some source code control software. Do you use any such systems where you are?
