"Failed to open rowset" when running 8.5 report in 9.0

Hi,

I have a report with several subreports. It runs fine in 8.5 but when I open it in 9.0 I get the error messages "Failed to open rowset" and "Query engine error: ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence".

In the mainreport I have two tables that are linked with a left outer join. If I change this link to Inner join or removes the subreports the report runs fine. Does anyone know why? I must use a left outer join and subreports. What can I do to make this work?

Depending on the version of the database driver, the outer join syntax might not be created correctly. Take a look at the database query sent to the database from CR. Under database, there is a Show Database Query option. If you can't see the database query you might want to try to logged the database query either through the ODBC driver or a SQL Profiler type of program available with your database.

we solved a similar problem - only on NT system - by upgraing the ODBC driver. with CR10 on NT the "outerjoin"phrase was omitted which produced a failed to open rowset error
