This is a very basic question but we have recently moved sites, and we have decided to use the old CM as a test rig.

Is there a simple way to essentially wipe all existing configuration settings and fresh start?

Thanks

If you want to clear the translations you can go to CM's web interface and switch your system to an ESS or LSP, then back to core server. Otherwise just reinstall CM if you want to reset EVERYTHING (IP addresses for CM, logins, server settings etc)
To reset the g450, SSH in and do "nvram init"

Thanks for the reply, clearing translations should be fine for starters to clear down the CM side of things :)

The G430 was purchased in, and i've never configured one from scratch. One thing I am sure is that it's on a different network range to my Lab VLAN, so i'm not sure of it's IP address.

To confirm I would need to connect to the service port with a x-over cable and setting my IP to 192.162.13.5/6 and connecting to it via putty? Then forcing it to a new ip with ifconfig?
If I don't know the default username and password how would I go about resetting this as I can see this also being an issue.

Thanks!

Check the media gateway configuraton guide. It explains the process of configuring the IP address (interface commands) and setting your mgc lists.

Yes, cross over or straight through (assuming your laptop also does auto mdi/mdx) to the services part, 192.11.13.5/30 is you and .6 is the media gateway.
