When we are looking at an inventory item in inventory inquiry and then click on the inquirys tab and click on the sales order inquiry checkbox to see what sales orders it is on, I receive this error message. I only get it if the item is on a sales order. This is a very convenient tool we like to use and help would really be appreciated. Here is the entire message:

Thank you,

MAS90/200 uses something called 'sort files' to locate records quickly. You've got an errant record in one of them. From the Library Master/Utilities menu there is a Rebuild Sort Files option. Select 'S/O' for the application and enter the appropriate company code. You'll need to make sure everybody else is out of anything sales order related before you start this. It's a rather harmless utility; you've got a low-to-no risk of making anything worse by running this.

When you start the utility, you'll be prompted whether or not you want to recalc the quantities on sales order. MAS90 keeps track of the quantity of each item on sales order/backorder. This rebuild utility is going to run through every line of every sales order. Since it is doing this, it's a fairly simple process for the utility to reset those inventory quantity totals. Answer yes or no to that question and the utility will be on it's way. Once it's completed, you shouldn't receive the error any longer.

BTW, you can experience a similar problem in PO inquiry if your P/O files get mangled. You can repeat the above, but select "P/O" for the application.

Best wishes,
-Chris
