Has anybody got the Email Action to work in voicemail pro, I want to be able to get the caller to leave a voicemail and then have it emailed via voicemail pro.

Yes.

It works perfectly.

We use it to send an email to our pagers when a new voice mail arrives.

Anyway, you must make sure that your MAPI or SMTP settings are correct and working. Once that is done, the action should work.

the usual problem if you are using Mapi is the VMPro service is signing on using an account that does not have a configured e-mail aplication

Outlook also needs to be configured for corporate usage not plain Internet (Cant remember who posted that one but thanks)

Yeah, the whole MAPI thing is a pain.

Corporate environments are touchy about the whole email issues as well.

I have found that you can uses persists email to send SMTP. So you may be able to set that up as a SMTP host.

I just haven't tried it yet.

Sorry should have been a bit clearer. The email option works fine, if I set up a call flow to email a file, then tranfer for the email arrives at the inbox fine.

However I am trying to use either a voice question or leave voicemail action to email the recoreded wav to a user. If I use a voice question it works fine as long as the user records a message for the full lenght of time set. However in both instances if the customer hangs up the phone I do not get the wav.

The problem as I see it is as soon as the phone is disconnected the call ends and therefore the actions in voicemail terminate thus never getting to the email action.

I guess my question now would be, did anything get recorded?

Show your flow:

Example: Start-> Menu -> press 2 -> email action -> leave mail.

start - menu - voice question - email action

The email action has a $ in the file name so it should forward the recorded email. It does is you let the call go over the record length of the voice question, however if you hang up the email never arrives.

You can also put Variables in the Body or Subject field

eg: Subject field

Please call back $CLI

Would create a email with the subject field of

Please call back (CLI Of Caller)

Good for call backs if no CCC. !!!

I guess my question now is, is the file still being recorded if they hang up?
