I appear to have lost the function that allows me to click "Edit Original" in my links pallet which would normally open the graphic/image in Photoshop. This function works for links created in Illustrator, but when it's a Photoshop link it will open Photoshop if it isn't currently running, and it will go to Photoshop if it is already running, but the picture does not open like it used to. This function was really helpful, and a time-saver since I didn't have to go find the link.

Any thoughts on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

I'm assuming this is happening on all documents and not just one. If it's just one, you might try updating the links and see what happens.

The most common cause of things "no longer working" is a corrupted preferences file for the program. Can't say that's your problem, but trashing prefs is usually the first step in trying to fix things.

If you're on OSX, you'll find ID prefs in User/Library/Preferences. I don't know where Windows has the prefs, but beleive it's sort of hidden. If you'r eon OSX you can trash ID prefs - while ID is NOT running - and then launch. A new prefs file will then be created. Windows does about the same thing, once you find out what the prefs file is called, find it, and trash it.

Thanks for the suggestion jmgalvin, unfortunately that didn't fix the problem. This is a work computer (Mac OSX) so I don't exactly have free rein to pick it apart. I guess at this point we are going to reinstall InDesign and hope that the problem fixes itself.

If anyone has any other suggestions they will certainly be taken into consideration.

We re-installed InDesign but still had not fixed the problem. We then reinstalled the whole Adobe CS and finally everything is working as it should. Turns out that the problem must have been with Photoshop. I did dump the preferences on it as well, prior to reinstallation, but had not corrected the problem.
