"Disk Read Error"

Hard drive crashed. I bought a new one hoping to be able to recover my data files on the crashed hard drive. I have connected it as a slave to my computer but when booting I get a "disk read error" error message. I need my data files, please help!!!

I have tried to follow the thread you suggested, thread528-1010270 but I can't get to it. I have double-clicked it, that did not work. I have searched for it inserting it in the search window and that did not do it. How do I get to it?
