Guys,

We're running a CS1000E at present and keep seeing the following error outputted on the command line, anyone have any ideas ? Can't seem to find much info on this in the Nortel docs :

CRMN001 HIGH Call Reg Usage, Pcnt Used= 85, Num Used= 21353, NumCR= 25000

Many thanks,

Richard

i would increase my call registers, ld 21 prt parm, ld 15 to change.. that's an awful of in use cr's, i run maybe 10 to 12 k in use with 8000 stations.. you may have way to many phones set up key system style.. single depts with 5 or more scr's showing up on each set.. that requires a single call reg per line per appearance per call.. i use mcr's when possible and force users to use pickup and trnasfer, more pbx style... when you have 0 call reg avaiable, the switch will ini to give you a hand cleaning itself up.. 5 of those and you get a cold restart.. no charge.. btw after you increase those, you HAVE to do an ini. params are only in effect after the reboot.. non dynamic mem allocation.. more like the old config.sys file

Hi John

Sorry to be a pain but can you explain a bit more, never delved into this part of the switch so I don't really understand quite what you are getting at.

I am to understand this is call data being collected and stored on the switch? The thing is we have a external call reporting server that is collecting the CDR data and storing in a Dbase. On the back of the switch we have a Serial/IP buffer which collects CDR's and then feeds them into the server, so I'm a bit confused as to why the switch is retaining the data. Either that or I'm WAY off the plot on this one.

We only have around 600 IP sets on the system and most only have SCR, vary rare that phones have more than one DN on them or multiple SCR keys.

Thanks again,

Richard

Hmmm.. we're getting this:-

CRMN001 HIGH Call Reg Usage, Pcnt Used= 99, Num Used= 19999, NumCR= 20000

Ta for the thread..gonna log this one with Kingston.

Hi Plantman

I'd be interested as to what Kingston have to say about this as we still haven't 100% got to the bottom of this, if you do find out let us all know.

Cheers

Richard

here's the buffers from my switch.. if you don't have 30 in your drol or if you have a lot of digital sets built that are not plugged in,, anything that causes backgroud traffic, will use buffers ram and cpu time.. by removing all of that type of trash my switch is running a lot cleaner.
Code:
PARM
  LPIB 3500
  HPIB 3500
  500B 2000
  SL1B 255
  NCR 10000
  MGCR 25
  CSQI 2500
  CSQO 2500

Well.....Kingston have looked at this and as a temp solution disabled the call reporting function on the CS1000.....

That is something that will need looking at but it has stopped the errors coming up now.
