"constaint feature on box tool"

When using the box tool I seem to be locked into the constraint feature. The application was working properly ie. the default would be a retangular box unless I used the shift key. Now all boxes are equal squares and I can't make a retanular box. How do I get it off the constraint feature.

Sounds like you need to rebuild your preferences.
If you are on a PC the do a start/find and look for the
RSRC folder inside the Pagemaker program file. Open the RSRC folder and then open the usenglsh folder. Inside this folder you will find the .cnf icons. (if you have the extentions showing) Look for the PM65.cnf (right click on it and select properties)make sure you have the preference icon. When you do then right click and delete.
Make sure Pagemaker is closed and not running while you are doing this. Once you delete the pref then restart pagemaker.
If you are on a mac then go into your harddrive into the system folder into the preference folder and find the Pagemaker pref. Click on the pref then delete it. Then restart Pagemaker again.

Thanks for the response. I find PM65.cnt in my folder. No PM65.cnf. There is a PM65.cnt. Could we have a typo? Before I go deleting it I thought I better check.
