"Client Agent empty buffer event" error messages?

Hi all,

What does the above error messages mean?
Last 2 days I try to backup up a 200GB file system on a Win2k client and this messages pop up after 77% of backup completion and now the backup process hang for 2 days.
Please help!

HI,

This error could be due to several reasons...

200 GB backup sounds a bit exhausting... how much RAM\swap file do you have??

can you split this into more than one backup job??

you can set the send\recieve timeout entries in the regsitry on the client machine...

reinstall the Client agent and repatch...

if all fails... reinstall the OS...this usually resovles it.

I had this same problem. I was backing up data from an offsite server over an 10 MPS FNS circuit. Eight months ago we upgraded the connection and I have not seen the error since.
