"Browse" button

Hi,

I want to be able to click a button and browse my hard drive and then import the selected file to the correct table.

I have read a few threads about this, but to be honest, it goes over my head.

I am new to VB programming so a guide for plebs would be gratefully received!!!

This is asked all the time. If you searched this site you should have got a link to this:

There are a lot of ways to do this, especially if you have A2003. The above uses the API. It is pretty easy just cut the code off of the site and place into a module. Then call the function. The browse comes up and the function returns the path.

OK, I have the browse box working now, but I do not want to open or save the file. I want to import it to a specific table in the database.

How do I go about doing that?

Depending on your access version you may simply play with the FileDialog object.
