I am new to Crystal Reports and I have a project requirement to run reports in batch mode. We would be kicking these reports of using ASP.NET or SQL Server stored procedures. Can this be done? If so, can you point me in the right direction to get this started?

We are using CE v8.5 and I can not really find any reference in the 8.5 Developer's Guide.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Jeff

With CE you can schedule when reports should run (For instance, every day at 3:00 am) -

You can also have the report Emailed to you in several formats ( PDF, Text, etc)
Look into the docs on scheduling reports for details and prerequisites..

Good to hear that I can do, but can it be done programmatically? So far, the documentation has been sketchy or I have had no luck finding documented help.

We make our reports dependent upon an event as well.
This way our reports start daily after 2am but only once the trigger to fire the report appears.

Hey datavalue,

How did you do it? I need a programmatic solution that will be done in-house. We are using ASP.NET and SQL Server. My plan is to allow the reports to be run when through SQL Server stored procedures (not an ASPX form yet). So a Crystal control on a form is not an option at this moment. We will allow the printing of reports using the Crystal WebViewer unless there are better solutions available.

Thanks!
Jeff
