I am running Backup Exec 8.6 on Win 2000 Server, utilizing Agent for Netware. The back is showing "Failed", but it did complete and verify. The reason it failed is it was trying to backup my Netware 6.0 User Licenses, which I have excluded! However, the backup is still trying to write these locked user licenses. The error in the log reads as follows:

^ ^ ^ ^ ^ Access denied to file /.T/.O=EPD/.NLS:publisher=Novell+NLS:product=NetWare 6 User+NLS:Version=600/.NLS:License ID=SN:404956540.NLS:publisher=Novell+NLS:product=NetWare 6 User+NLS:Version=600.O=EPD.T=EPD..

So my question is if this file is being excluded, why do I still get the error, and is there a way to fix this issue?

Have you tried looking through the knowledge base on the Veritas web page? Try support.veritas.com.

Have you verified that they really are excluded? The backup selections has a text view and a graphical view. It defaults to the graphical view, but sometimes when I'm having trouble removing a backup selection, the text view is the way to go. It lists all selections individually, and you can delete it from there.
